A Place to belong. A place to grow.
Across Colorado, thousands of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) are seeking what so many of us take for granted: a safe, supportive, and independent place to call home. As aging caregivers worry about the future and young adults with I/DD look for a life beyond their childhood homes, the need for thoughtful, inclusive housing has never been more urgent.
The Grove at Cottonwood is more than a housing development—it’s a bold step forward in creating a community where everyone can thrive. Designed with intention and built with compassion, The Grove offers permanent, neuro-inclusive housing where residents are empowered to live with dignity, independence, and connection.
Together, we’re reshaping what’s possible for people with I/DD in Colorado—one home, one neighbor, one community at a time.
Where Housing Meets Inclusion
The Grove at Cottonwood is an innovative affordable housing community in Broomfield, Colorado, intentionally designed to support independent living for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Developed by the Broomfield Housing Alliance in partnership with BlueLine Development and designed by Caddis Collaborative, The Grove offers 40 high-quality, permanently affordable rental homes built with accessibility, inclusion, and dignity at the forefront. With design features aligned with trauma-informed principles and an on-site resident concierge to foster connection and support, The Grove is more than housing—it’s a community where residents are seen, valued, and empowered to thrive.
MISSION:
To provide safe, affordable, and inclusive housing where adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities are supported to live independently, engage meaningfully in community life, and thrive in a setting that honors dignity, choice, and belonging.
“People with disabilities can and do live on their own! … People with disabilities can live independently. Many advocates tell us they prefer to live independently or in housing with just a roommate or their partner, where they have more choice and control.”
